Who has never dreamed of spending a few days in an idyllic setting worthy of the most beautiful picture post card landscapes? We’ve all fantasized about it, of course. And to make this dream come true, one of the most popular destinations is the Seychelles archipelago with its myriad small islands and its ideal climate. The Seychelles consists of 115 islands spread throughout the Indian Ocean with a wide choice of paradise like sites. One example among many others is North Island, a few minutes by plane from the main island of Mahé. It was abandoned in the 1970s after the failure of its coconut industry and the invasion of a number of undesirable plants and animals. Today however, it has recovered all of its natural beauty thanks to the incredible work carried out by the Wilderness Safari Group, which has developed luxury ecological tourism. Their work consisted of preserving certain animals species here and especially birds like the warbler and the Seychelles robin redbreast, as well as trees like the famous and symbolic palm tree, the “coco de mer” which has been reintroduced on the island.
A dream vacation in harmony with nature
The North Island hotel, on the island of the same name, is a five-star establishment in perfect harmony with nature, destined for visitors in search of privacy and an intensive wellness cure.
Eleven villas, primarily built with local materials, each offer 450 square meters of comfort and elegance. Their décor is sober, in light colored tones, with wood furniture and large beds equipped with mosquito nets. They all have two bedrooms, one which can be used as an office, a living room, a kitchen and a superb terrace with a dining area and a private swimming pool. Guests feel at home but with the ocean barely a few meters away.
Four beaches offer guests gentle stretches of basking in the sun on a deck chair facing the ocean. Thanks to a diving center, they can also discover the pleasures of this activity and the beauty of the coral reefs which have made the region famous. Bicycles and buggies are available for exploring every inch of the island and delving into the mysteries of its exceptional flora and fauna.
The spa is entirely dedicated to the well-being of the body and the spirit and offers a variety of treatments and massages. A beautiful swimming pool and its teak terrace offer pleasant moments of relaxation, as does the superb library made of coral, where guests can find what they need to learn a bit more about the history of the island.
Finally, the Chef takes the time to make the acquaintance of each individual guest and adapt his menus based on their individual tastes, the time of year and the local products. Guests can take advantage of the beautiful restaurant or if they like, take their meals at poolside, in the privacy of their villa, or with their feet in the sand, under the stars.
