St. Ann

The city of Ochos Rios in northern Jamaica is part of the St. Ann parish. This former fishing village, like so many other villages in the region, has, over the past several years, become an important tourist spot. The beaches are all beautiful including the largest one in the city, Turtle Beach. You can set up your beach umbrella and enjoy a day of sun, surf, water skiing or deep sea diving. If you like, you can even swim with the dolphins, or if you’re brave enough, meet some sharks in the nearby Ochos Rios marine park, the Dolphin cove.

Other sites worth visiting are only a few kilometers away, like the famous Dunn falls, where the cascading water plunges into the Caribbean Sea, or the numerous gardens in the region where visitors can discover the wide variety of trees. Right nearby, in the village of Nine Miles, where Bob Marley was born, a museum in his honor was built, somewhat different from the one in Kingston, but one which will help visitors to dig more deeply into the universe of this legendary international artist.
