The city of Ochos Rios in northern Jamaica is part of the St. Ann parish. This former fishing village, like so many other villages in the region, has, over the past several years, become an important tourist spot. The beaches are all beautiful including the largest one in the city, Turtle Beach. You can set up your beach umbrella and enjoy a day of sun, surf, water skiing or deep sea diving. If you like, you can even swim with the dolphins, or if you’re brave enough, meet some sharks in the nearby Ochos Rios marine park, the Dolphin cove.
Other sites worth visiting are only a few kilometers away, like the famous Dunn falls, where the cascading water plunges into the Caribbean Sea, or the numerous gardens in the region where visitors can discover the wide variety of trees. Right nearby, in the village of Nine Miles, where Bob Marley was born, a museum in his honor was built, somewhat different from the one in Kingston, but one which will help visitors to dig more deeply into the universe of this legendary international artist.
The Sandals Royal Plantation is located in St. Ann. The hotel complex’s upscale service has earned it the reputation of being one of the world’s finest hotels.
Each of its 74 suites has a panoramic view of the Caribbean Sea and is decorated in a highly sophisticated and luxurious style including large fourposter beds, elegant bedding, refined furniture with comfortable sofas and armchairs, tapestries and thick curtains. A big plus of the hotel is the presence of a butler assigned to each room in order to guarantee gusts perfection throughout their stay.
The activities offered are exceptional as well, with a private beach and a small cabana and beach bed and a maître d’hôtel to serve you a home made cocktail. Not far from the hotel, the prestigious Sandals Golf and Country Club and the Red Lane Spa offer guests unparalleled moments of relaxation.
The restaurants of course, are as luxurious as the rest. All three of them are of the gastronomic variety and serve a wide variety of refined international dishes. The Terrace restaurant enables gusts to enjoy a candlelight dinner in exceptional surroundings with the sound of a lovely serenade played under a small kiosk. Finally, the C Bar, with a C for champagne and for caviar, will delight guests in search of a memorable meal. What can one add to the fat that the Royal Plantation is an exceptional establishment for an unforgettable vacation?
“For us, service is a profession, not a career. In Jamaican, we say it’s a ‘certain something that comes from the heart.’ It’s this spirit and passion that our guests feel. The simplest response to any request made by a guest is “yes”. We bend over backwards to fulfill our guest’s every wish. Even the most scandalous requests are carried out to perfection, as long as we’re given a moment to find the solution.” Jaime Stewart McConnell, Managing Director, Royal Plantation
