The heaven on earth known as the Seychelles archipelago is located in the Indian Ocean between the Equator and Madagascar. Its 115 islands, pirate refuges during the 17th century, are preserved territories with abundant vegetation, superb beaches and dream hotels offering tourists the ideal setting for an unforgettable vacation. Among the most popular islands there is Mahé the largest, with its capital city, Victoria. It’s here that the majority of local inhabitants live and where the major part of the archipelago’s economic activity takes place. It’s the ideal place to spend a few hours immersing oneself in the culture and the traditions of the Seychelles. It’s here that we find the famous Mai Valley, a UNESCO world heritage and the magnificent Georgette Cove beach, one of the most beautiful in the world. Not far from Praslin, the Round Island is a truly remarkable site. Its name comes from its almost perfectly circular shape. This private island is one of the most intimate and luxurious vacation spots in the Seychelles, where diving enthusiasts can spend hours under the water with a simple mask and a snorkel admiring the wide variety of fascinating fish.
Round Island is accessible by helicopter, thanks to its landing strip, or by boat. It is considered one of the archipelago’s most private sites since only twenty guests can stay here at the same time. Its granite rocks, tropical gardens kilometers of immaculate fine sand beaches and its gentle, limpid waters have charmed all those lucky enough to have stayed here. Sailing, kayaking, diving and deep sea fishing are among the activities available by simply informing the island’s staff. Excursions can also be arranged to the neighboring islands of Praslin or La Digue, offering guests an excellent opportunity to discover the culture of the Seychelles and the life of its inhabitants.
There is a choice of two restaurants. The Flibustier, on the lagoon, offers guests cocktails under the shade of its thatched roof or directly on the beach. The Citronelle, in the center of the island, proposes refined cuisine either in its chic salons or on its terrace near the superb outdoor, two level swimming pool.
The island’s three traditional villas receive guests in a modern and elegant setting. Wood is very present both indoors, and outdoors on the large terraces, with a view of the lagoon. They each have two bedrooms with large four-poster beds, bathrooms with adjacent showers and a living room. The Turtle and the Swordfish villas are a bit further away and have a lovely private swimming pool. The hidden treasure at the summit of the hill, in the midst of the island’s lush gardens is the Takamaka House with its 300 square meters of luxury and comfort destined for the most privileged guests. It has three bedrooms and bathrooms, an immense terrace with a view of the ocean, a kitchen and a large living room, assuring its guests of a peaceful, luxurious retreat that is unequalled throughout the archipelago.
