For several decades, Morocco, a North African jewel, has been a privileged destination for tourists in search of exoticism. Over the years, a real tradition of warm and friendly hospitality has developed, which today is one of the country’s greatest qualities. Whatever you’re looking for in a vacation, Morocco can meet your needs, from a beach holiday, to the discovery of new horizons to visiting a culturally rich country.
Marrakesh, one of the country’s largest cities, attracts visitors by its cultural heritage as well as for its very unique atmosphere. A multitude of sites worth visiting have added to the reputation of the city, including the large Koutoubia Mosque with its famous minaret, its majestic gardens and its sultans’ palaces which bear witness to the city’s past and which contain treasures that help create a better understanding of the country’s history. The souks and the famous Jemaa El Fna square help to make for an unforgettable vacation. The choice of accommodations is vast with hotels, inns and more and more traditional riads, as well as luxury hotel complexes.
Ideally located in the Sidi Mimoun quarter, on a fairly large street, thus facilitating access to it, La Villa des Orangers is a refreshing oasis of peace and quiet. Behind its big cedar door, we discover a typically oriental atmosphere with a lush garden, the delicate aroma of the orange trees, and patios with refreshing fountains. This luxury hotel is the work of Veronique and Pascal Beherec who wanted it to be sober and in the pure local tradition, which is why guests feel at ease so quickly. There are 22 suites, 6 deluxe rooms and a private riad. The décor is elegant and warm, with traditional wood furniture and carved plaster, as well as carpets and lanterns which add an authentic charm. The bathrooms are in marble and particularly spacious. Some rooms have a private terrace with deck chairs and parasols, while others have a balcony facing the garden and the heated outdoor swimming pool.
The riad consists of two suites, a solarium and its own swimming pool. A third pool is located on the rooftop terrace with one of the most beautiful views of the city. A beauty center proposes treatments, traditional black soap scrubs, massages and a hammam all designed to soothe the body in need of relaxation. A bar serves mint tea and oriental pastries at any hour of the day, which can be enjoyed for example, in one of the salons in front of a cozy fireplace. The gastronomic restaurant at La Villa des Orangers is highly reputed, with a menu of local dishes inspired by Mediterranean cuisine.
“Personalized hospitality is not just an empty phrase here, and we want to keep it that way.” Pascal Béhérec, owner of the Villa des Orangers.
