At the top of the hilly landscape of the Tyrolean Oberland, the commune of Ischgl, once an agricultural domain, has become a privileged site for lovers of winter sports, wide open spaces and partying. Trendy bars, discotheques and 235 kilometers of skiable slopes have spread the reputation of the station well beyond the borders of Austria and have made it a favorite destination of the jet set. From Paris Hilton to Bill Clinton, celebrities come here to take advantage of the great many activities available including all winter sports, riding horse drawn sleds, nightclubbing, concerts on the slopes for the celebrated Top of the Mountain event whose guest of honor in 2009 was none other than Australian singer, Kilye Minogue. Ischgl is an ultra modern Tyrolean station with numerous hotel infrastructures that rival each other in the audacity of their architecture and the excellence of their services.
Atop the southwestern province of the Tyrol, at 1,376 meters of altitude is where hotel professional and restaurateur Ghünter-Aloys chose to create a chic, minimalist haven of peace in the midst of the constant hustle and bustle of the trendy Ischgl winter sports station. The sober exterior of the dark wooden façade with its large bay windows belies the sophisticated modern interior design created by the renowned German decorator, Sabine Mescherowsky, using pure lines, contrasts of light and darkness, smooth and rough and hot and cold and natural minimalist materials such as stone, wood and glass. “The design concept is simple and strict,” centered around the theme of sensory perception. Ideal for silent meditation, the interior decoration was inspired by the minimalist Japanese zen style using the elements of water, fire, wind, light and earth, according to the energy regulation principles of feng shui. The swimming pool and sauna both face the snowy summits of the Tyrolean landscape, offering guests an authentic moment of evasion, ideal for losing oneself in contemplation. Nine new suites have recently been opened connected by a glass staircase to the rooms of the building’s original wing. The contemporary style of the interiors differentiates them from the other rooms, whose design is more classic and based on the “feeling at home concept.” From the lobby-lounge, access to the Pacha night club is direct. It’s a meeting place for inveterate party lovers, jet setters and people from all walks of life.
Paris Hilton, a regular guest at the hotel, celebrated her birthday in the Pacha Club surrounded by host of celebrities.
