Paris, the City of Light, has been attracting visitors and inspiring the creativity of artists and writers for centuries. Notre Dame, Sacré Coeur, the Eiffel Tower, Place de la Concorde, the Champs-Elysées, the Arch of Triumph, Madeleine and so many other treasures make Paris a mythical city where history has left its mark on its buildings and its spirit like no other capital in the world.
Symbolizing French “art de vivre”, Paris is also the capital of fashion and luxury, a notion well embodied by its legendary “golden triangle” quarter.
Bordered by the Champs-Elysées, Avenue Montaigne and Avenue George V, it is one of the most visited neighborhoods in the city. Famous throughout the world, visitors come here to admire the elegant boutiques of the greatest names in fashion, attend an exhibit at the Grand Palais or take in a play at the Marigny or the Rond-Point Champs-Elysées theatre.
This prestigious international quarter is also home to several luxury hotels which respond to the demands of a wealthy clientele in constant search of exceptional sites embodying the French way of life.
A confidentiel hotel
Just a few meters from the Avenue des Champs-Elysées, the Hotel de Sers is a confidential address. Located in the former private mansion of the Marquis de Sers and built at the end of the 19th century, it has preserved its original façade and its “private home” charm. Entirely renovated in 2002 by two brothers Thibault and Thomas Vidalenc, this small 5 stars palace hotel now receives visitors in a luxurious and contemporary atmosphere.
Inside the building, the original architecture was enhanced with modern design. The 22 meters long entrance gallery enabling guests to access all of the hotel’s spaces, is in a pure style. The furniture is modern, in gray tones, and the walls are covered with a succession of portraits from the Marquis’ era.
Facing the gallery, a library space enables guests to sit around and relax. Surrounded by wood, the space is warm and calm. Below a Baccarat chandelier, the staircase of honor leading to the former floor of nobility has recovered all of its past splendor. At the end of the gallery, in the new area where the library is located, a duplex of elevators has been built for access to the rooms. Here too, the accent is on space and light. The rooms, spread over eight floors, possess the contemporary designer décor of a home with discreet luxury, comfort and warmth. The rosewood furniture surrounded by a steel structure wonderfully combines classic French and contemporary design.
All of the refined materials were chosen with great care including red and violet taffeta for the curtains, warm wools for the sofas, Missoni fabrics for the cushions and leather for the armchairs.
Each of the 45 rooms possesses a photograph by Annsophie Lombrail representing daily life in Paris which serves as a headboard for the bed. We find the same classic comfort and contemporary luxury in the suites. 2 of the 6 suites qualify as panoramic thanks to their terraces with a magnificent view of Paris. The height of luxury is the 80 square meters apartment equipped with every possible modern comfort.
Refinement and well-beingalso characterize the spa located on the basement level, and the restaurant on the ground floor. The latter is furnished in the same fashion as the grand gallery by which it is accessed. When weather permits, this light and very trendy space opens onto the Josephine patio.
Chef Christophe Hay proposes a cuisine using carefully selected organic products. The menu varies with the seasons. This delicious and light cuisine can be enjoyed in the restaurant itself with its design atmosphere, in the more confidential Signature salon or on the patio.
Sometimes called the « Baby Palace » because of its human scale size, the Hotel de Sers perpetuates the tradition of 19th century splendor, with modern technology to boot!
Lady Gaga, Brad Pitt, Black Eyed Peas and Justin Bieber have caused some wild scenes when they’ve stayed at the Hotel de Sers.
