Paris, the City of Light, has been attracting millions of visitors and fanning the creative flames of artists and writers for centuries. With Notre Dame, Sacré Coeur, the Eiffel Tower, Place de la Concorde, the Champs-Elysées, the Arch of Triumph and the Madeleine church to mention just a few, if there is a legendary venue where history has left its imprint on the variety of sites and on the human spirit, it is undoubtedly here.
As a symbol of the French art de vivre, Paris is also the capital of fashion and luxury, a notion embodied by the quarter known as the Golden Triangle. Bordered by the Champs-Elysées, Avenue Montaigne and Avenue Georges V, it is one of the capital’s most visited areas. Internationally famous for its elegant boutiques and renowned creators, it is also home to The Grand Palais with its numerous exhibitions as well as famous theatres such as the Marigny, the Rond-Point and the Champs-Elysées.
It is here as well, in this prestigious venue, that we find a host of luxury hotels which respond to the needs of a wealthy clientele and who today are looking for exceptional accommodations throughout the city that reflect the unique art de vivre française.
A prime example is this 1930s building located across the river on the left bank of the Seine opposite the right bank’s Golden Triangle. Like an ocean liner, its majestic, modern and original aspect sails above the buildings of Paris’ 7th arrondisement. It’s here that architect, Jean-Philippe Nuel used all of his imagination and inspiration to create one of the capital’s most atypical five star establishments. His innovation consisted of inventing a sublimated domestic spirit representative of this partially residential quarter by offering visitors a chic, luxurious, elegant and design space.
Contemporary art is an integral part of the concept with 400 original works spread throughout the building. The 67 rooms and suites propose 29 different arrangements clearly illustrating the hotel’s point of view which was to create an out of the ordinary venue, a different sort of hotel space in a city where luxury is second nature.
The Cinq Codet is a reinterpretation of a Parisian pied à terre providing guests with an atmosphere of total freedom to select his or her own space in rooms that invoke artists’ studios. The works of art including photos, sculptures and paintings blend in perfectly with the furniture by renowned designers and carefully selected by Jean-Philippe Nuel himself to accentuate the creative touch of this charming venue.
The restaurant-bar-patio is an emblematic part of the project embodied by the Cinq Codet. The interior and exterior are closely linked to create a new space in which functionality bows to the desires of an architecture which is inventive and yet in total harmony with the entire hotel.
The spa is a relaxation bubble located on the 3rd floor surrounded by an open sky terrace; a truly timeless site far from everything! Being in this earthly little Garden of Eden makes it difficult to recall the hustle and bustle of Paris just a few meters below. The outdoor Jacuzzi, massage cabin for two, hammam and herbal tea area make up the foundation of this privileged enclave.
Located in a quarter where museums abound (Orsay, Rodin, Invalides, etc.), the Cinq Codet is an original and arty vision of a different kind of Paris, a capital anchored in its history but with its eyes fixed on the future and dedicated to innovation.
