Prague is a city which tourists come to discover all year round, since whatever the season, Prague is always superb. Characterized by its original and varied architecture, each monument is in a different style including Roman, gothic, Baroque or some that are even inspired by cubism.
Among the city’s treasures is the majestic Prague Castle which dates back to the 9th century which to this day dominates the city. It’s a huge building that contains a cathedral and three churches. It’s here that kings were crowned, where some even lived, and where some have been laid to rest. Today, it’s the residence of the president of the Czech Republic.
Another symbolic monument is the famous Charles Bridge, which crosses the Vitava and is considered one of the world’s most beautiful bridges. Its two towers are fascinating since they are not from the same era and are completely different in style. The smaller one dates back to the 12th century and was built in roman style, and the second is 15th century and in pure gothic style. In the evening, the bridge is lit up making it even more beautiful.
A very 19th century hotel for a wonderful stay
The celebrated five-star Palais Hotel Prague is located in the center of the city. In this beautiful 1897 building, originally a residential palace, guests are received by a highly qualified staff whose goal is to fulfill all of its guests’ demands. The interior décor created by Veronika Jurkowitsch is very 19th century and very successful. It charms visitors by its elegance and the decorator’s attention to detail including chandeliers, clocks and period furniture.
There are 72 rooms and suites, all different but with the same refined and sober atmosphere. They are characterized by exceptional comfort and equipment. The walls are in vivid and warm colors. The furniture is chic, the fabrics of the highest quality and the bathrooms in marble. The suites are even more spacious with a separate living room and bedroom. Some are decorated with superb frescoes on the ceiling. Others have a balcony with a very pleasant view and still others have a cozy fireplace.
To take full advantage of their stay in the capital, guests are invited to discover the numerous treatments and massages available in the hotel’s Pure Spa, which places the accent on peace and relaxation, as well as the fitness center for keeping in shape.
A superb library with a British atmosphere and the bar are ideal places to relax after a long day of touring. The Papillon, the hotel’s gastronomic restaurant proposes refined international and local cuisine accompanied by exceptional wines in a highly chic décor, or when weather permits, on the terrace under immense parasols.
The hotel’s suites are considered a must when visiting Prague, and that is probably one of the reasons why the Palais Hotel Prague has received so many awards including the prize for the best boutique hotel in the Czech Republic by World Travel Awards in 2008 and 2009.
