Prague, the capital and largest city in the Czech Republic is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Central Europe. Its rich history and its immense cultural heritage offers visitors a multitude of sites which bear witness to the city’s past as well as its present. In the heart of different neighborhoods like the Mala Strana or the Old City, the architecture is a blend of Roman, Gothic, Baroque and contemporary, all of which add to the charm and the beauty of the Czech capital. Must visits are numerous here including the City Hall with its astronomical clock, the famous Jewish quarter and the Charles Bridge which connects the Mala Strana quarter with the Stare Mesto, and Wenceslas Square dedicated to the country’s patron saint. However, if you only have time to visit one monument, it should be, without a doubt, the sumptuous thousand-year-old Prague Castle which has been the seat of political life here since the 9th century. Monumental by its size as well as its history, it has seen successive Bohemian kings, emperors of the Holy Roman Germanic Empire, presidents of Czechoslovakia and now those of the Czech Republic. Tourists can also visit the Royal Palace, the Saint-Guy Cathedral and many other monuments which make the castle the symbol of the city.
Ideally situated just a few steps from the famous Wenceslas Square, one of the city’s major attractions, the Hotel Yasmin is a little jewel that continues to impress its guests. The tone is set as soon as you enter the hall. Instead of the typical ultra classical decorations of many hotels, originality prevails here. The most sought after Czech interior architect, Bara Skorpilova has created an imaginative and radically contemporary atmosphere consisting of balls of silver hanging from the ceiling and an original floor pattern with jasmine flowers scattered about it, extravagant raffia red statues and design furniture.
The atmosphere upstairs is more sober, especially in the hotel’s 196 rooms. They are all decorated with simplicity and elegance in gray or beige with simple furniture encrusted with small jasmine blossoms and sublimated by lovely natural light. The all black bathrooms are particularly spacious and perfectly equipped with shower and bathtub. Bara Skorpilova tried to make each one of the 185 rooms and 11 suites simple and functional spaces, with all the four star comforts.
A fitness center and sauna enable guests to keep in shape and free themselves of stress caused by the daily grind. Noodles, the hotel’s bar-restaurant welcomes guests to a buffet breakfast as well as lunch and dinner. It’s a perfect opportunity to discover its original and international cuisine as well as its pasta (or noodles) recipes from all over the world.
