Morocco is well known for its incredible heritage and the wealth of its historical sites. The country possesses eight UNESCO world heritage sites, and one of them is in Marrakesh, in the heart of the old city, the famous Jemaa El Fna square. Just a few steps from the Koutoubia mosque and the souks, the square attracts thousands of tourists annually who come to see the snake charmers, marabouts, and vendors selling snacks and even freshly squeezed orange juice.
But what makes the square truly authentic are the local inhabitants who invade it in the evening to take advantage of the cooler temperatures, and to eat at one of the small makeshift restaurants that are set up at nightfall. The souks are also an ideal place to discover Morocco’s cultural traditions. Those in Marrakesh are well frequented and the atmosphere is very lively. It’s here that local craftsmen set up shop in order to sell their work, and where local inhabitants come to buy meat, herbs and cheese. Tourists appreciate the warmth and cordiality they feel in the souks, and many of them leave with their arms full of souvenirs and gifts with a touch of local color.
Located in the heart of the Palmeraie, in a lush four-hectare garden, the Ksar Char-Bagh is a truly exceptional place. This superb Moorish palace welcomes you into a dozen small apartments known as harims, and one very spacious apartment. The harims are decorated in a totally Moroccan tradition, in a fairly pure style with the goal of giving a real palace the elements of beauty it deserves. The wood, brass and wrought iron are carefully used and in exquisite taste. Each harim has a king sized bed, a living room area with a fireplace, and a bathroom with a shower and a bathtub. The more luxurious units have a terrace, a garden or private swimming pool.
The large apartment is just as charming, with a swimming pool on a private terrace. The red marble hammam in the palace tower guarantees evasion for the body and the mind thanks to its 50 degree Celsius steam bath, and its treatments, scrubs and massages to complement it. The area is nearby and bordered by gigantic palm trees.
Inside the hotel, there’s a large library for a moment of relaxation, accompanied by a mint tea, and a smoking room which is ideal for lovers of cigars who can choose their cigar from a wide variety available at the hotel. The hotel Chef has some surprises in store for guests, thanks to his traditional cuisine with oriental flavors, and fruits and vegetables grown in the hotel’s garden. The Ksar Char-Bagh offers its guests a vacation under the sign of luxury and authenticity at every level.
“Service at the Ksar Char-Bagh is impeccable. A staff of 25 is dedicated to making your stay a memorable one. You can therefore, choose to have your meals in the lovely restaurant, or ask to have your table set in the garden or on the terrace of the tower overlooking the Palmeraie, near the pool, or anywhere else you wish.” - Madame Figaro.fr
