The Seychelles, an archipelago of more than 100 islands in the gentle waters of the Indian Ocean, is a paradise for tourists. For several decades, tourism has developed incredibly here thanks to the idyllic setting and the natural beauty of its sites which have been passionately preserved to offer visitors a total and magnificent change of scene.
More than 200 kilometers from Mahé, the archipelago’s main island, we discover one of the Amirante islands, Desroches, named after a former French Governor. Today, it’s an ideal environment for anyone in search of luxury, calm and of course, sensual pleasure.
It possesses an impressive tropical forest and was once called Wooden Island. It’s a very popular spot with experienced or beginning divers who take advantage of their stay here at the island’s only hotel to explore world renowned sites like the very dark Big Cave grotto where they can come across sharks and turtles, or the Canyons with magnificent coral and a great many extraordinarily colored and oddly shaped fish.
After a 45 minute flight from Mahé, we discover with amazement, the idyllic island of Desroches, a small, longish shaped island with lush vegetation and more than 14 kilometers of magnificent beaches.
Guest accommodations in this handsome hotel include 20 suites and 28 villas, all very spacious and equipped with every possible modern comfort including television with international channels, air conditioning and bathrooms with outdoor bathtubs and showers.
The interior décor is both simple and elegant, often inspired by the colonial era with lovely pastel colors and wooden objects and furniture. To assure guests of peaceful nights, all the beds have large mosquito nets.
The Beach Suites have a bedroom and a large terrace, and the Beach Villas also have a small private pool. The Luxury Beach Villas all have four bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen and a swimming pool. Finally, in the Presidential Villa, there is no limit to luxury in its 750 square meters which can easily accommodate ten guests.
All the accommodations are located on the edge of the tropical forest, just a few meters from the blue lagoon, which is extremely popular with diving enthusiasts and those who enjoy a quiet nap under the palm trees.
Relaxation and well being are an integral part of the hotel. Guests are invited to discover the spa where a variety of massages are practiced. Numerous sports activities are also available including tennis, cycling, windsurfing, or for a more unusual experience, deep sea fishing, which is very popular since it’s a good opportunity to discover the tuna, marlins and barracudas that live in these waters. Finally, in order to fully satisfy all of its guests, the resort proposes several bars and restaurants whose Creole specialties can be enjoyed for lunch at poolside or during a candlelight dinner on the sand and under the stars.
